Comfort cooling and mission-critical cooling are not the same job. An office system is allowed to cycle off, drift a few degrees and take the weekend off. A room full of servers is not. It runs 24/7/365, it produces heat whether or not anyone is in the building, and in South Florida it does that against 90°F ambient and 75% relative humidity for half the year. When cooling stops, you have minutes — not hours — before thermal shutdown.
That is the work we do on this side of the business: cooling that is sized for a continuous sensible heat load, configured with a backup path, monitored for temperature, and serviced on a schedule instead of after the alarm.

How Mission-Critical Work Is Different
- Sized for sensible load, not square footage. A server room is a near-100% sensible heat load. Sizing it like an office produces a system that short-cycles, never dehumidifies properly and fails early.
- Year-round cooling, including January. Equipment must run in cool-only mode with low-ambient capability, because the racks do not care that it is 58°F outside.
- Redundancy by default. Where the room justifies it, two smaller units alternating on a lead/lag schedule beat one large unit — you get a backup and you halve the run hours on each machine.
- Humidity in both directions. Too damp corrodes contacts and drips; too dry invites static discharge. South Florida pushes hard in one direction, and an oversized unit that never runs long enough makes it worse.
- Alarms before failure. Temperature monitoring with an alert to a person is the cheapest part of the whole system and the one most often missing.
- Condensate handled properly. A drain line above live equipment is a flood waiting to happen. Pumps, secondary pans and float switches are not optional in a server room.

We are not a hyperscale mission-critical mechanical contractor. What is data center cooling and how is it different from regular AC?
Data center cooling — also called precision or mission-critical cooling — removes heat from IT equipment continuously, year-round, while holding temperature and humidity in a tight band. Comfort AC is sized for people and allowed to cycle off. Precision cooling is sized for a constant sensible heat load, runs in cool-only mode all winter, and is normally configured with a backup unit so a single failure does not take the room down.
Do you service data centers in Miami and Fort Lauderdale?
Yes — we serve Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, including downtown Miami, Doral, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach.
How fast can you respond if our server room is overheating?
Overheating equipment is triaged ahead of comfort calls, and we aim to be on site the same day. Tell us the room temperature and how fast it is climbing when you call. If the space has to stay online while we work, we will coordinate temporary or supplemental cooling as part of the fix.
Can you install cooling for a server room that has none today?
Yes. That is one of the most common calls we get: a closet full of equipment cooled by whatever the building system happens to deliver. We calculate the actual heat load from the equipment in the room, size a dedicated system to it, and handle drainage, electrical coordination and controls.
Do you offer maintenance contracts for cooling equipment?
Yes — planned maintenance agreements at two, four or more visits per year depending on how critical the room is, with documented checks, trended readings, a written report after each visit and priority scheduling. Can you work on Liebert, Vertiv or Stulz precision units?
We service the mechanical and refrigeration side of precision cooling equipment — coils, filters, refrigerant circuits, condensers, drainage and airflow. For units under an active factory warranty or a manufacturer service agreement, we will tell you when the right move is to call the factory instead of us.
What size cooling does a server room need?
It comes from the equipment, not the room. Add up the power draw of everything in the rack — nearly all of it becomes heat — then add lighting, people, wall and ceiling gain, and any outside air. As a rough orientation, about 3.4 kW of IT load equals roughly one ton of cooling, but the design also has to account for future racks and for a redundant unit if the room warrants it.

Yes — Airo Service is a licensed Florida HVAC contractor, license CAC1824778, carrying $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate general liability. A certificate of insurance naming your building owner or property manager as additional insured can be issued on request.
