Airo Service: Florida’s Federal Home Energy Rebates Still Have Not Opened

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — September 7, 2026

Airo Service is advising South Florida homeowners that Florida’s federally funded Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates programme has not yet opened to applications, and is cautioning consumers against delaying a needed air conditioning replacement in expectation of a rebate that cannot currently be claimed.

The current status

Florida’s HOMES and HEAR rebate programmes are administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Office of Energy. As of mid-2026 the programmes remain pre-launch, with pilot registration only and no general application process open. FDACS has indicated a HEAR pilot will launch first, with the full programme to follow. No firm public launch date has been published.

Homeowners can register at the Florida Energy Saver Program website to be notified when applications open.

Why Airo Service is raising it

“People are being told there is fourteen thousand dollars waiting for them,” said Roman Shatokhin, Founder of Airo Service. “There may be, eventually, for households that qualify. But it is not open, and nobody can tell you when it will be. Meanwhile it is September in Florida and their system is fifteen years old. We are not going to let somebody sit in the heat waiting on a programme that has no date.”

The programme, when it launches, is income-qualified and structured as a point-of-sale discount rather than a reimbursement. Eligibility, funding availability and the equipment that qualifies are all determined by the state, not by contractors.

What Airo Service advises

• Register to be notified if the household may qualify on income. It costs nothing.
• Do not defer an emergency replacement on the expectation of a rebate with no launch date. A failed system in a South Florida summer is not a situation to extend.
• Do not accept a quote that credits the rebate in advance. No contractor can apply a programme that is not accepting applications.
• Ask what is available today — utility rebates, manufacturer promotions and financing are real and current.

Company position

Airo Service does not quote state or federal rebate amounts as part of a price, and states that it checks what is actually open at the time a customer buys rather than presenting programme figures that may have lapsed or not yet begun. The company will update its published guidance if and when Florida opens the programme to general applications.
